When Diversity Became Black and White
Corporate diversity began as a promise to widen opportunity for people overlooked by familiar systems. It lost moral authority when that promise narrowed into a Black–White contest serving reputational, professional, commercial, and political interests. This article examines how the stakeholders who sustained corporate DEI also created its vulnerabilities—and what leaders must build so fairness survives every political administration.
